Whether you're new to Yoga or a seasoned student with a regular practice, it is always good to get back to basics.

This is a 4 x week introductory Yoga course.  The course will teach you the fundamentals of Yoga practice, in a safe and encouraging environment.  The class is restricted to a small group of students allowing the teacher to give a high degree of personal attention. You will learn some of the basic Yoga poses, linking movement with breath as well as a little bit about the history and philosophy of Yoga.

  • wanting to get back into Yoga
  • wanting to try something new
  • who is curious about Yoga
  • who is uncomfortable in a group class or new environment

Week 1
  • Breath awareness
  • Linking breath to movement
  • History about Yoga and the 8 limbs of Yoga
  • Tadasana
  • Surya A (with cat/cow)
  • Trikonasana
  • Parsvakonasana
  • Vrksasana
  • Virabhadrasana I
  • Paschimottanasana
  • Balasana
  • Savasana
  • Anjali mudra, chanting OM
Week 2
  • Square breathing
  • Including poses from week 1 and adding
  • Virabhadrasana II
  • Janu Sirsasana A
  • Marichyasana C
  • Viparita Karani
Week 3
  • Diaphragmatic breathing
  • Including poses from week 2 and adding
  • Surya B (with cat/cow)
  • Baddha Konasana
  • Setu bandhasana
  • Breath meditation
  • Gyan mudra /chin mudra
Week 4
  • Consolidate what we have learned for week 1 to 3
  • Where to from here?
A course for all levels.
Prepayment of $99.00 is required.
During COVID times we are not allowed to share equipment or props within the studio.
Each student will require to BYO:
1 x yoga mat
2 x yoga blocks
1 x yoga strap
1 x bolster (yoga pillow)
1 x light blanket
These items can be purchased through the Yoga Flourish online store, otherwise you can acquire them yourself. Alternatives for items: pillows instead of bolster, scarf instead of strap.
